Two fast ways to get a scratch sentence into Serato: the Sampler (SP-6) for one-shots and the Scratch Bank for loading a sample straight to a deck.

You downloaded a scratch sentence or some loops. Here is how to actually use them in Serato DJ Pro, two ways.

    First: import the files

Drag the MP3 files from your downloads folder straight into your Serato library panel. That is it - Serato analyzes them and they are ready.

    Option A: The Sampler (SP-6)

Best for one-shot sounds you want to trigger over a track.

    1. Open the Sampler panel (the SP-6 icon in the toolbar).
    2. Drag your scratch sentence MP3 onto an empty sampler slot.
    3. Set the sample to Cue mode so it stops when you let go.
    4. If the sentence has multiple sounds in one file, set cue points inside the sample so each pad fires the exact sound you want.

    Option B: The Scratch Bank

Best for scratching a sample on a deck like it is a record. This is the fastest way to practice a sentence.

    1. Open the Scratch Bank panel.
    2. Drag the scratch sentence MP3 into a Scratch Bank slot.
    3. Hit the assigned pad - the sample loads straight onto the deck with a cue point set at the start.
    4. Scratch it like normal. When you are done, eject and your original track is untouched.

Why Scratch Bank wins for practice

The Sampler fires sounds. The Scratch Bank gives you the sound *on the platter*, which is what scratching actually is. Load your sentence there and drill it over an instrumental loop.
